#######TRYING 34,999 ON FOR SIZE#######

All along I have said that my goal for the Mini was to just finish. Obviously I don't really believe that in my heart b/c I was extremely disappointed when I came in next to last during our TNT walk this evening.

I have never really considered myself a competitive person. Obviously I don't really believe that in my heart b/c I was extremely aggrevated when I came in next to last this evening.

My workout times are spent beating myself up for gaining some weight back and stopping my workouts around Thanksgiving AND trying to reassure myself that it is OK that it takes some time to get back up to speed. Most of the people who were ahead of me have participated in at least one Mini. Some have even participated in all of them since its inception.

Recently I learned from one of my regular runner blogs that I read that there is a Mini that takes place at Disney. Actually there are several different ones thru the year--one is called the MINNIE, how cute is that!

Although it sounds awesome, I don't think it is something that I will be able to participate in--the registration cost isn't bad; however, it is a fund raiser and you are required to raise big bucks. Even with having free accomodations I don't think it will be doable. Instead I am going to count on all of you to provide me with names and dates of events in your area that I can plan mini vacations around.

Now that Jen has taught me how to install hyper links (it took her a couple of times to explain it b/c I am a bit slooooowwww) I am going to start linking you up with some of my favorite blogs. Runner girl inspires me and keeps me cracking up. Enjoy!

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN FIT IN UNDER ARMOUR DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD WEAR IT!

TNT officially started last night. Fortunately I actually planned ahead for the frigid temps. Go figure it has been 60 degrees most of this winter until it is time for me to get out and move. As if I need any encouragement in staying in on my love seat with my laptop or latest crocheting project.

Two monthes ago I purchased two fleece jackets to wear in anticipation of this weather. I wanted something that could be thrown in the washer often. When the weather started to get a little chilly I noticed that the wind seemed to go right thru the jacket. (One of the cashiers at Baeslers mentioned she has a coat just like mine and that she had the same problem--so it wasn't just my imagination).

When I was Pacesetter one evening I mentioned this to the manager, Marsha, and she suggested getting a long sleeved Under Armour shirt to wear underneath. It would be warm but not bulky. Even with the great discount that they offer TNT members it cost more than any shirt I had purchased since my credit card hell days. I grumbled about it from Friday night when I purchased it until last night. Believe you me, when I stepped outside with the walking group, to take off on our first trek together, into the 28 degree weather I was grumbling no more. It was worth EVERY cent.

It was necessary for me to change into my walking apparel as soon as I clocked out from work in order to get to the park on time. It was the first time I had actually put the UA shirt on. Let's just say I no look so hot in that special wicking material! It definitely didn't work anything like my Aunt Sparkies's new magic pants. I had hoped I would have suddenly had an amazing physique, at least from the waist up!

My new goal is to look amazing in a cute little UA top for the Mini. Ideally I would like it to be a sport bra type thing but I think that that is a little too ambitious. I don't think the other 34,999 people would appreciate it.

Tonight I went back to working out at the Y. I won't pay to be a member there b/c of past experiences and the fact that I am a very stubborn person; however, I will take advantage of the FREE membership that they offer TNT members. I have definitely become pretty rusty in the last couple of monthes. The entire time I was really disappointed in my performance. Of course, I wasn't being realistic. I can't possibly believe that I can not move for almost 3 monthes and then expect to go back to 2 hr a day workouts right off the bat.

Baby steps, I'm back to taking baby steps. But that's OK...they are baby steps in the right direction.

Remember Me?

Gosh, I can't believe I have allowed so much time to pass since my last entry.

Got to pickup my TNT training manuel last night. It is so cool. It has the next 15 weeks planned out for walking, cross training, and resting. Knowing how strong willed and defiant I am, most of you will find it hard to believe that I am looking forward to being told what to do, how to do it, and when to do it.

It was totally amazing seeing the crowd of people that showed up for their training manuels last night. Last night the founder of the organization announced that there are only 200 hundred people in the entire nation that have been certified to coach in this particular manner. Only 7 in the state of Indiana and 5 of those 7 are working with TNT. How cool is that! I this little bitty, no place, nobody town, I am going to be trained by the nation's best.

Help me say a little prayer--I hope the winter is over for us here. We didn't get snow for Christmas so I am officially out of the mood. We can just pass on into spring. I can handle cold days--I just want LONGER ones!
